How to Report Hours

Each month, use the 2012 Report Form, when reporting 2012 Volunteer and Advanced Training hours to Jim Duron, at email address gbacmemberrpt@gbamasternaturalist.org.

Training and Volunteer Service Hour Requirements

Initial Certification - To get your initial certification, you must complete the Galveston Bay Area Training class and complete 40 hoursof volunteer service and 8 hours of advanced training within 15 months from the start of your training class. For example, if your class starts in February 2009, you have until May 2010 to complete the volunteer service and advanced training to become certified.

Recertification - To retain certification, you must complete complete 40 hours of volunteer service and 8 hours of advanced training each year.

All Advanced Training and Volunteer Service, unless executed through programs or projects pre-approved by the Chapter Board of Directors, must be submitted in writing (please use form) to the Volunteer/Advanced Training Chairperson and approved before hours are accumulated. Programs and projects, which meet the criteria of the Galveston Bay Area, presented by state or local sponsors and partners are automatically approved.
